online estate agent mousesale was founded by Managing Director Richard Garland - who now runs it with a rapidly growing network of Independent Agents & Partners throughout the UK. Richard previously ran his own estate agency and has also has held a number of senior roles in the financial services & mortgage industry.

The idea for online estate agent mousesale came following a TV appearance Richard and his wife Sue made on a programme called Win Your Own Home. Unsurprisingly they did n't 'win their own home' but a TV crew came to the house to film it for the show. The production company also wanted a written valuation of the property but would only take one from a local estate agent. Richard was surprised that the agent did not need to view the house. He simply took some details over the phone, made some Internet enquiries and came back with a valuation based on the actual selling price of similar houses nearby - coupled with property price inflation.

This information it transpired is available to all from the Land Registry. A simple and effective process - which anyone with an Internet connection could follow. Richard wondered why estate agency was not becoming less expensive as a consequence and so online estate agent mousesale was born to provide clients with the means to buy, sell and let property without the need for an expensive middleman.

www.mousesale.co.uk is not a typical online estate agent. We originally set out to help people sell property privately. However the Office of Fair Trading were unable to decide if we were online estate agents or not so we decided to err on the side of caution and officially become online estate agents - adhering to all the rules and regulations of  the Estate Agents Act 1979 , Provision of Information Regulations 1991 and the Undesirable Practices Order 1991.

Mouse Sale Ltd directors are therefore members of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and the Ombudsman Scheme for Estate agents to give our clients complete confidence in the mousesale online estate agent service.

We see our role as a new breed of hybrid estate agent - providing the framework to help take the hard work out of selling a house yourself sitting between private property sales online and a traditional high street estate agent.

The internet is a wonderful tool that can reach across the globe but nothing beats personal service. That is why online estate agent mousesale is developing a network of Partners and Affiliates throughout the UK. We want our clients to be able to deal with us locally, on a personal level.

As a result we are able to provide our clients with a comprehensive estate agency service.
